Why travel with Incatrekkers

Seven reasons to explore Peru with a fully local team

Incatrekkers is a fully local tour operator from the Cusco region. Here is what makes traveling with us different.

Founded by Juvenal Iturriaga, a native of Urubamba in the Sacred Valley, Incatrekkers has over 15 years of experience on the Inca Trail and the alternative treks around Cusco.

Fully local: Incatrekkers is owned and run by people from the Cusco region. Our guides, cooks and porters come from Andean communities, and every team member speaks Quechua.

Expert guides: Our licensed guides grew up in the region and have many years of experience on the trails. They share their knowledge of Inca history, Andean culture, flora and fauna with passion.

Responsible travel: We pay our guides, cooks and porters fair wages, offer good working conditions and support local Andean communities – with respect for the people and places we visit.

Personal service: Small public groups of up to 12 travelers, flexible private treks on request and thousands of satisfied guests who rate us 5 stars for our service and our itineraries.

Sustainability: We keep our environmental footprint as small as possible and support reforestation projects in the region.

Inspiring change: We hope our guests return home as ambassadors for Peru and its people.

Licensed and authorized: Incatrekkers is a licensed and authorized Inca Trail operator. Our operations are approved by the Municipality of Cusco, the gateway to the Inca Trail, and we are licensed by Peru's Ministry of Tourism, which oversees tourism activities in the country. Our Inca Trail operator license is renewed every year – a sign of our ongoing commitment to the highest standards of service, safety and professionalism. As a licensed operator, we are allowed to purchase Inca Trail permits for our guests. We follow all official regulations and are committed to fair working conditions for our team and the protection of the trail.
