Sacred Valley

Tunupa Lodge Hotel – 2 stars In Ollantaytambo, close to the train station – convenient before or after the train ride to Machu Picchu and for the start of the Inca Trail. A simple, cosy hotel with a garden and terrace; for early departures, breakfast to go is available on request.

Casa Andina Premium Valle Sagrado – 4 stars Between Urubamba and Ollantaytambo, set in around three hectares of gardens with views of the Andes. A spa with Andean treatments, a restaurant using regional ingredients and even its own planetarium and observatory.

Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu)

Hotel Pucara Machu Picchu – 3 stars About 100 metres from the train station, with the buses up to Machu Picchu leaving close by. Ideal for the night before visiting the citadel – guests on our 2-Day Short Inca Trail also stay here.

El MAPI Hotel Machu Picchu – 4 stars A modern, cosy hotel by Inkaterra in the centre of Aguas Calientes, a short walk from the train station and bus stop. A bright lobby with high ceilings and panoramic windows, plus an open café.
