Overview

Cusco was the capital of the Inca Empire, and its history is still visible in every stone. This half-day tour takes you to the most important Inca sites in and around the city – starting with Qoricancha, the Temple of the Sun and religious heart of the empire. From there, private transport brings you to Saqsayhuaman with its colossal stone walls and views over Cusco, to the ceremonial site of Qenqo, the military outpost of Puka Pukara and Tambomachay, the Inca water temple with its fountains. The tour ends around 12:30 pm, leaving you the afternoon to explore Cusco at your own pace – an ideal start for your first days of acclimatization.
