Day 1: Cusco – Soraypampa - Humantay Lake -Cusco

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure as we pick you up from your hotel at the early hour of 04:30am, embarking on a scenic 3-hour drive to Soraypampa,at an elevation of 3900m / 12,795 ft.

Upon reaching Soraypampa, we will replenish our energy with a delicious breakfast, fueling our bodies for the thrilling hike that awaits us. Lace up your boots and prepare to ascend for approximately one hour and a half, surrounded by breathtaking views, as we make our way to the mesmerizing Lake Humantay at 4200m / 13,779 ft.

The hike up will reward you with awe-inspiring vistas at every turn, offering panoramic views that will leave you speechless. Behold the magnificent Humantay Mountain, standing tall and proud, while the pristine waters of Lake Humantay glisten in vibrant shades of blue and green, creating a visual spectacle that will stir your soul.

Once we conquer the hill and reach our destination, take a moment to soak in the breathtaking views that unfold before your eyes. Immerse yourself in the serenity of this natural marvel, as you bask in the tranquility and peace that permeate the surroundings. Capture the beauty of this idyllic setting in photographs, preserving the memories of this remarkable experience.

After ample time to relax, reflect, and savor the moment, we will begin our descent back to Soraypampa, where a delicious lunch awaits. Indulge in a well-deserved feast, savoring the flavors of the region while recounting the incredible journey we just undertook.

As the day draws to a close, we will bid farewell to Soraypampa and embark on the return journey to Cusco. Along the way, revel in the memories created and the stunning landscapes that accompanied us throughout the day. Our comfortable transportation will ensure a relaxing trip back, allowing you to reminisce about the beauty you witnessed.

Anticipate arriving at your hotel in Cusco around 17:00pm, with hearts full of joy and a newfound appreciation for the natural wonders of Peru.           Here's a checklist of essential items to bring for your trek:

          Backpack for your daypack: A comfortable and sturdy backpack to carry your personal belongings and essentials during the day.

          Original passport (mandatory): Please ensure you have your original passport with you, as it is required for entry to certain areas during the trek.

          International student identity card (ISIC): If you are eligible for a student discount, remember to bring your ISIC to avail the benefits.

          Personal first-aid kit and necessary medications: It's advisable to carry a personal first-aid kit with any specific medications you may require during the trek.

          Rain gear or rain poncho: It's important to be prepared for changing weather conditions. A rain jacket and pants, or a rain poncho, will keep you dry during rainy spells. Ponchos can be purchased in Cusco if needed.

          Strong footwear: Opt for sturdy walking boots with ankle support for optimal comfort and stability during the trek.

          One complete change of clothing: Pack a spare set of clothing, including a sweater, jacket or fleece, beanie, hat, and gloves for colder nights. Thermal clothing is also recommended, especially for sleeping.

          Water bottles: Bring reusable water bottles such as metal or Nalgene-type bottles to stay hydrated throughout the trek.

          Sunscreen and after-sun cream: Protect your skin from the sun's rays with sunscreen and keep it hydrated with after-sun cream.

          Hat or cap: Shield yourself from the sun, rain, and cold with a hat or cap.

          Snacks: While we provide comprehensive meals, it's always a good idea to have some snacks like dried fruit, biscuits, chocolate, or energy bars for extra sustenance during the trek.

          Toilet paper and handkerchiefs: Carry toilet paper and handkerchiefs for personal hygiene.

          Camera, films, and extra batteries: Capture the beautiful moments along the trek with your camera. Make sure to bring extra batteries as they may drain faster in cold weather.

          Extra Peruvian soles: Keep some extra currency for purchasing drinks or in case of emergencies.

          Walking poles (optional): If you prefer using walking poles, they can provide additional support. 

          By ensuring you have these essential items, you'll be well-prepared to fully enjoy your trekking experience.
