ITINAERAY:

DAY 1: Cusco - Capuliyoc - Playa Rosalinas - Santa Rosa

Begin your adventure bright and early at 05:00am as we pick you up from your hotel in our private transport. We'll embark on a scenic journey to Capuliyoc at 2945m / 9,662 ft, a drive of approximately 4 hours. Along the way, marvel at the majestic Salcantay Mountain, standing tall at 6270m / 20,570 ft, the second highest peak in the Cusco region. As we cross the Cunyac bridge, marking the border between the departments of Cusco and Apurimac, we'll continue our drive to the village of Cachora at 2880m / 9,448 ft. Here, we'll make a brief stop for any last-minute supplies before proceeding to Capuliyoc at 2945m / 9,662 ft, our starting point for the trek.

Take in the breathtaking views of the Apurimac Valley and the snow-capped peaks of Padrayoc and Wayna Cachora as we begin our trek. After a short 20-minute hike, we'll arrive at the Capuliyoc viewpoint, where the real adventure begins. Brace yourself for a long downhill descent into the Apurimac Canyon, reaching the picturesque Chiquiska at 1850m / 6,069 ft. Here, we'll take a well-deserved rest before continuing to Playa Rosalinas at 1550m / 5,085 ft, where a delicious lunch awaits us. The trek from Chiquiska to Playa Rosalinas will take approximately 4 hours.

Reenergized after lunch, we'll begin an ascent of about 2 hours to Santa Rosa at 2090m / 6,856 ft, our camping site for the first night. Along the way, immerse yourself in the captivating surroundings and embrace the sense of accomplishment as you ascend to higher altitudes.

DAY 2: Santa Rosa - Marampata - Choquequirao

Prepare for an invigorating day as we begin early at 06:00am, fueled by a delicious breakfast. Our journey continues with an upward ascent into the captivating Marampata community at 2900m / 9,514 ft, a trek of approximately 3 hours. Along the way, we'll take refreshing breaks, allowing us to catch our breath and enjoy our first glimpses of the awe-inspiring Choquequirao Inca site. The breathtaking views and the anticipation of what lies ahead will make this stop truly memorable.

From Marampata, we press on for another 2 hours, reaching the magnificent Choquequirao at 3100m / 10,170 ft. Here, we'll pause for a well-deserved lunch, savoring our meal in the proximity of this extraordinary Inca site. Spend the afternoon exploring the ruins, immersing yourself in the rich history and architectural marvels that await. Keep your eyes peeled, as you may even catch a glimpse of condors soaring through the sky, a truly remarkable sight.

As we venture through this rugged terrain, you'll encounter a diverse array of flora and fauna, adding to the enchantment of the journey. Marvel at the vibrant colors and intriguing species that call this region home, creating a truly immersive experience in nature.

DAY 3: Choquequirao - Chiquiska

Following an early breakfast, we'll prepare ourselves for the return journey to Cusco. The first leg of our trek will take approximately 2 hours as we make our way back to Marampata, offering us incredible views of the Apurimac Canyon. Take a moment to soak in the breathtaking panoramic views that surround you, capturing the beauty of this remarkable landscape.

From Marampata, we'll begin a descent that will last approximately 4 hours, providing us with continuous stunning views of the Apurimac Canyon. Each step taken brings us closer to Playa Rosalinas at 1550m / 5,085 ft, where we'll stop to enjoy a well-deserved lunch. Take this opportunity to rest, refuel, and reflect on the incredible journey you've experienced thus far.

After lunch, we'll embark on a 2-hour uphill climb that leads us to the base camp at Chiquiska, situated at 1850m / 6,069 ft. This will be our accommodation for the third night, providing a comfortable and convenient resting place amidst the beauty of the natural surroundings.

DAY 4: Chiquiska - Capuliyoc - Cusco

We'll wake you up bright and early to enjoy a hearty breakfast, fueling you for the day ahead. After energizing ourselves, we'll embark on a thrilling climb that will last approximately 4 hours, leading us to Capuliyoc at 2945m / 9,662 ft. As we ascend, be prepared to immerse yourself in the stunning scenery and breathtaking views that unfold along the way.

Upon reaching Capuliyoc, we'll take a well-deserved break, serving you a delicious lunch to replenish your energy levels. Take this time to relax, reflect on the incredible journey you've completed, and soak in the natural beauty that surrounds you.

As we wrap up our adventure, our private transport will be waiting to take us back to Cusco, where your hotel awaits. The journey back will be a comfortable ride, allowing you to reminisce about the memorable experiences and stunning landscapes you've encountered during your trek. We anticipate arriving in Cusco around 18:00pm, providing ample time for you to settle back into your accommodations and reflect on the incredible accomplishment you've achieved.

We cater to special dietary requirements and vegetarian meals upon prior request or during the briefing on the evening before the trekking.

    Hygiene and Comfort: We prioritize your comfort and cleanliness. Every morning and afternoon, we provide warm water for you to freshen up. We also supply bio-degradable hand soaps, ensuring eco-friendly practices during the trek.

    English-speaking professional guides: Our knowledgeable and experienced guides will accompany you throughout the trek, providing valuable insights, guidance, and support. They are fluent in English, ensuring clear communication and an enhanced trekking experience.

    Horsemen and horses: To alleviate the burden of carrying heavy loads, we provide horsemen and horses to transport the tents, food, cooking equipment, and personal equipment such as mattresses, sleeping bags, and clothing (up to a maximum of 6 Kilos per person). Additionally, an emergency horse is available in case someone requires assistance and is unable to continue walking.

    Camping equipment: We offer spacious and comfortable four-person dome igloo tents for every two trekkers, providing ample space for your backpacks. Our camping equipment includes dining and kitchen tents, as well as a first aid kit with an emergency oxygen bottle for added safety and peace of mind. Each person is also provided with an inflatable sleeping pad for a comfortable night's rest.

    Filtered boiled water: From the second day onwards, we provide filtered boiled water, ensuring a safe and reliable source of hydration throughout the trek.

    Entrance fees to Choquequirao: We take care of all entrance fees to Choquequirao, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the wonders of this magnificent site without any additional expenses.

      Sleeping bag (25 US$ to rent): For your convenience, we offer the option to rent a sleeping bag for an additional fee of 25 US$. This allows you to travel lighter and ensures a comfortable night's sleep during the trek. Rest assured, our sleeping bags are of high quality and provide the warmth and comfort you need.

      Tips: At our company, we prioritize fair wages and ensure that our staff is well compensated. However, if you feel inclined to show appreciation for the excellent service you receive during your trek, please feel free to leave a tip as you see fit. Tips are not mandatory but are always appreciated by our hardworking team.

          To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable trekking experience, we recommend packing the following essential items:

          Backpack for your daypack: A sturdy backpack to carry your essentials during the day hikes, allowing for easy access to your belongings.

          Original passport (mandatory): It is crucial to bring your original passport for identification purposes, as it is required for entrance to certain sites.

          International Student Identity Card (ISIC): If you are eligible for a student discount, please remember to bring your valid ISIC card to claim the discount.

          Personal first-aid kit and necessary medications: It is essential to carry a personal first-aid kit with basic supplies and any prescribed medications you may require. This ensures your safety and well-being throughout the trek.

          Sleeping bag (for 25 US$, you can also rent one from us): We offer the convenience of renting sleeping bags for a fee of 25 US$. Alternatively, you may bring your own, ensuring a comfortable and restful night's sleep during the trek.

          Rain gear: Be prepared for changing weather conditions with a rain jacket and pants. Alternatively, you can bring a rain poncho, which can be purchased in Cusco. Staying dry and protected ensures your comfort during the trek.

          Strong footwear preferably walking boots with ankle support: Invest in sturdy walking boots with ankle support to provide stability and protect your feet during the trek. Proper footwear is essential for a comfortable and safe hiking experience.

          Sandals or jogging shoes for higher comfort while at camp: In addition to hiking boots, it's recommended to bring sandals or jogging shoes for increased comfort during campsite relaxation or after hiking.

          One complete change of clothing: Pack a complete change of clothes, including a sweater, jacket, shirt, fleece, beanie, hat, and gloves for cooler nights. Thermal clothing is also recommended, particularly for sleeping, as it provides added warmth.

          Water bottles (metal or Nalgene type): Stay hydrated throughout the trek by bringing reusable water bottles, preferably made of metal or Nalgene material. Proper hydration is essential for your well-being and endurance during the journey.

          Flashlight/headlamp and batteries: Ensure you have a reliable light source for navigating in low-light conditions. Don't forget to pack extra batteries to avoid running out of power.

          Sunscreen and after-sun cream or hydrating cream: Protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays with sunscreen, and soothe and moisturize your skin with after-sun cream or hydrating lotion. It's important to care for your skin during the trek.

          Hat or cap: Shield yourself from the sun, rain, and cold with a hat or cap. It provides protection and added comfort in varying weather conditions.

          Insect repellent: Keep pesky insects at bay with a reliable insect repellent. It ensures a more comfortable trekking experience, particularly in areas with high insect activity.

          Snacks: While we provide a comprehensive and well-supplied meal service, you may consider bringing your preferred snacks such as dried fruit, biscuits, chocolate, or energy bars. This recommendation applies to those who have specific snack preferences that may not be included in our selection.

          Toilet paper and handkerchiefs: Carry toilet paper and handkerchiefs for personal hygiene needs during the trek.

          Camera, films, and extra batteries: Capture the unforgettable moments of your trek with a camera. Don't forget to pack extra films and batteries, as cold conditions can deplete battery life more quickly.

          Some extra cash in Peruvian soles: Carry extra cash in Peruvian soles for purchasing drinks, snacks, or any unforeseen emergencies during the trek.

          Walking poles (optional): If you prefer using walking poles, feel free to bring them along. Please remember to attach rubber protection to the metal spikes if you intend to use them on the Inca Trail to avoid damaging the trail.

          Small towel: Pack a compact towel for various purposes, such as wiping off sweat or freshening up during the trek.
